There has always been a reasonable amount of confusion concerning old and new model E50 engines. We are gonna explain it right now!
First off, it′s not the engine that defines the difference, but the crankshaft.
You could even have a very early type E50 engine without a separate clutch cover, but still find a new model crankshaft inside.
An old model crankshaft has a "ring" on the clutch side and the new model crank does not (see picture).
This is the only significant difference between old and new model E50 engine.
You′ll find complete revision kits available in the shop.
After this short explanation it should be easy to find the right kit for your E50 engine!
